Establishment of the EURAXESS Centre at UMB

At the beginning of 2024, the Matej University in Banská Bystrica became part of a major European initiative EURAXESS. Our university is now the official seat of the EURAXESS Centre, which was established as a contact point for access to existing services within the institution. It will primarily serve researchers looking for new opportunities and possibilities in the field of science and research.

The EURAXESS Centre is established within the International Cooperation office of the Matej Bel University to support the mobility of researchers, facilitate their work in Slovakia and their integration into the academic community. It also aims to provide information on research opportunities, including grants and jobs that may be of interest to researchers in the European area. The centre will provide expert advice, information on working conditions, social aspects and legislative issues related to research and work at our university, as well as support and assistance in dealing with specific issues related to the stay of researchers and their family members in Slovakia. At the same time, it will be an information base for applicants from UMB for research positions abroad.

The decision to join the EURAXESS Slovakia network by signing the Declaration of Commitment reflects MBU's previous steps towards increasing the level of services provided to researchers, promoting values, cooperation and international exchange of ideas for excellent research. Membership in the EURAXESS Slovakia network opens the door to new perspectives and enables us to create partnerships between MBU and the European research community.

For all researchers looking for new challenges and opportunities, we are here for you through the EURAXESS Centre! For more information contact: euraxess@umb.sk
