UMB in the ranking THE WUR 2022

Matej Bel University in Banská Bystrica achieved an amazing result in the worldwide university ranking system THE World University Rankings 2022, where it placed in the shared position 1201+. This is the very first position of our university in this prestigious ranking. At the same time, it was evaluated as one of the TOP universities in Slovakia, where it ranked fourth among five Slovak universities.

The THE ranking of universities evaluates more than 1,600 universities from 99 countries and territories, making it one of the most comprehensive global university rankings. The THE classification system consists of 13 indicators, on the basis of which universities are evaluated in the field of teaching, research, international perspective and knowledge transfer into practice, in order to create a ranking of the most prestigious.

UMB also ranked very well in the related rankings, namely in the ranking according to study programs, where it occupied the shared position 301-400 in the field of social sciences, and in the ranking of emerging economies with the position 501+. The Emerging Economies ranking includes only institutions in countries classified as "emerging economies" by the FTSE Group on the London Stock Exchange.

The fact that UMB is actively included in the current THE ranking opens up new opportunities for it and gives preconditions for development in the field of international cooperation in all its aspects.
