    Nordic walking at the UTA in Poprad

     

    The students of the study programme PHYSICAL HEALTH CARE – HEALTHY PHYSICAL EDUCATION at the University of the Third Age (UTA) UMB in Poprad attended the lecture on Nordic walking with practical demonstrations. The lecture took place at the Institute of Management Systems of Matej Bel University (UMB) in Poprad on the 10th December 2015 and it was the first lecture of the programme of lectures and practical exercises focused on this new form of sport. Ing. Lenka Veselovská, PhD., coordinator of UTA UMB in Poprad, welcomed the lecturer Mgr. Zuzana Šucová, who not only teaches Nordic walking but is also a successful sportswoman. In 2015 she became the European Champion of the World Champioship in this unusual sport, she finished in 5th place. During the summer term, the students of UTA in Poprad will use their knowledge gleaned from the lectures and obtain practical experience on the touristic walking terrain.
