    Opening of the academic year 2020/2021 postponed

    A working meeting of the Rector and the representatives of the UMB management with a delegation of the Ministry of Education led by the Minister Gröhling took place at the Rectorate of Matej Bel University in Banská Bystrica on 17 August 2020. During the meeting the information was shared with the rector that “in connection with the corona crisis, the Minister of Education considers it necessary that the time span between the beginning of the school year in primary and secondary schools and the beginning of the academic year at universities shall be extended by approximately one month, while based on mutual discussion, the most appropriate date is recommended Monday, 28 September, 2020, or even later". In this context, the Rector interpreted the consent of Matej Bel University in Banská Bystrica to start the teaching in the academic year 2020/2021 on 28 September 2020.
