The extraordinary regime in MBU Student homes

    Dear foreign students,

given the extraordinary situation in relation to the spread of COVID-19 and the declaration of a partial state of emergency, the Rector of Matej Bel University in Banská Bystrica strongly urges you to follow the extraordinary regime in MBU Student homes:

    1. Access to the Student home is allowed only to foreign MBU students who have decided to stay in the premises.
    2. When entering the premises of Student home, everyone is required to present an accommodation card.
    3. Each resident is obliged to behave in such a way that his/her actions do not endanger the health and safety of other persons located in the premises of Student homes. In the current epidemiological situation, this also means limiting contacts with other persons to the minimum necessary.
    4. Each resident is obliged to strictly observe the provisions of the MBU Boarding rules (https://www.umb.sk/studium/student/sprava-ucelovych-zariadeni-umb/informacie/internatny-poriadok.html) in connection to their accommodation in any of Student homes of MBU.

In case of non-observance of the extraordinary regime in Student homes of the MBU, the accommodated student will be immediately expelled from the Student home and may subsequently be expelled from the study programme as well.

Let us remind you that under paragraph No. 163 and No. 164 of the Penal Code: “Whoever deliberately or negligently causes or increases the risk of introducing or spreading a dangerous contagious human disease will be punishable by a term of imprisonment of one to five years.”

At the same time, the Rector of the MBU draws the attention of accommodated students to the obligation to respect the measures taken by the Slovak authorities (The Central Emergency Staff of the Slovak Republic) in all places outside the Student homes.

    doc. Ing. Vladimír Hiadlovský, PhD.
