Dongbei University of Finance and Economics (DUFE) is a long-term partner of our university. As part of this partnership, the Confucius Institute for Business has been operating on our campus since 2019, bringing our students, staff, and interested members of the public the opportunity to learn about the culture, traditions, language, and contemporary society in China.

On 16 November, we had the honour of welcoming a DUFE delegation to Matej Bel University led by its Rector, Mr. Honxing FANG, whose other members were Lili DENG, Dean of the Faculty of International Education, Shuo TAO, Director of the International Department, and Mang WANG, Head of the Confucius Institutes Affairs Department. The guests were welcomed by the Rector of Matej Bel University, Mr. Vladimír Hiadlovský, Ms. Miroslava Knapková, Vice-Rector for Strategy, Internationalisation and International Cooperation and Jianwei WANG, Chinese Director of the Confucius Institute for Business at Matej Bel University. The aim of this reception was the signing of a bilateral cooperation agreement for the next five years by the rectors of both partner universities.

The meeting was also attended by other members of the Board of Directors of the Confucius Institute for Business, which met on this occasion. One of the main points of the meeting was the appointment of Ms. Miroslava Knapková as a member of the Board of Directors and at the same time as the Slovak Director of the Confucius Institute for Business at MBU. The Board also approved the continued cooperation, sealed by the signing of a trilateral agreement, where, in addition to MBU and DUFE, the China International Education Foundation is also a partner.
