    Business support for science and research at the MBU Faculty of Law

    Our MBU lawyers obtained business non-financial support assistance for science, research and project activities. Companies SYTELI, s.r.o. Michalovce, KVANT, spol. s r.o. Bratislava and GT DATA, s.r.o. Banská Bystrica have signed memorandums on cooperation and understanding with the faculty, which strengthen the cooperation program in the field of higher education, vocational education, vocational training, science, research and innovation.

    Institutions are interested in developing mutual cooperation primarily in support of academic projects of the new workplace "Criminological and Criminalistic Research Center at the Faculty of Law of Matej Bel University in Banská Bystrica". Science and research activities of the center were supported by the basic grant for science and research as the academic version of SW, technologies and trainings to support legal research of anti-social phenomena, in the amount of €17,000 under a long-term lease without the time limit.

    "Criminological and Criminalistic Research Center at the Faculty of Law of Matej Bel University in Banská Bystrica(in Slovak: Kriminologické a kriminalistické výskumné centrum pri Právnickej fakulte UMB v Banskej Bystrici;KKVC PrF UMB BB) is built as a specialised workplace which examines the protection of persons, property and other legitimate interests, and which is performing scientific and research expert activities in accordance with the long-term development plan and the intentions of the faculty/university. The primary object of the study is praxeological, coming from the field of Penal Law, Criminology, Criminalistics, protection of persons and property by the norms of criminal law" said Dr.h.c. prof. Ing. Miroslav KELEMEN, DrSc., MBA, LL.M., the director of KKVC PrF UMB BB.

    The research center seeks solutions to the interdisciplinary security and legal aspects of anti-social phenomena, protection of legitimate interests in the public and private spheres, optimization of society's response to crime, crime control through repression and prevention tools, ensuring internal security of a country in the context of the European Security and Cooperation agenda.

    Criminological and Criminalistic Research Center at the Faculty of Law of Matej Bel University in Banská Bystricais built on the platform of creative national and international project and grant teams, in accordance with the faculty or university's scientific profile.

    Scientifically it cooperates with the "Matej Bel University in Banská Bystrica Crisis Management Center" (CEKR) in the interdisciplinary solution of national and international security issues, with other faculties and research centers at the university, at home and abroad, in the KKVC's primary and secondary fields of study.
