Research team is multidisciplinary based on long-lasting cooperation in numerous national  and international projects. Members of the team deal with subjects related to innovation in public sector. They are authors of numerous monographs, chapters, scientific papers and studies related with public sector, public administration and social innovation. Research team actively collaborates with several Slovak ministries and municipalities. Its members have developed network of collaborators worldwide (NISPAcee, IASIA, EGPA, EEAPA, EURAS, WP6 UNECE, etc.).

 

• Prof. Beata Mikusova Merickova, PhD. focus her research activities in the areas of public sector, public finances and new approaches to the provision of public services. These activities are documented in several monographs, numerous research studies and articles published in current academic journals and conference proceedings at home and abroad. Her research activities include co-operation in projects of international and national significance (SRDA, VEGA, GACR, NISPAcee, COST, NASPAA, and Strategy of Slovak Society Development). Her research results have focused mainly on the implementation of market tools of management in public sector. The most significant contribution of her research on the theoretical and practical levels includes outlining the recommendations and guidelines in the area of the legislative, institutional, economic and organizational requirements of successful implementation of different forms of partnerships of the public and private sectors.

• Assoc. Prof. Maria Murray Svidronova, PhD. - her teaching and research activities focus on management and financing of non-profit and non-governmental organizations, civic engagement, public services delivery and social innovations. Some of the latest projects she has participated in include FP7 (LIPSE) and HORIZON 2020 (SOLIDUS). She is the author of more than 60 publications and scientific papers. She also works part-time as a project manager and lector in several educational non-governmental organizations in Slovakia.

• Prof. Juraj Nemec, PhD. has many years of experience in teaching economics, finance and management in the public sector. He has published over 400 books and scientific articles in this field. In 2010, he received an important reward for his performance – NISPAcee Brunowska Award. He is President of NISPAcee, Vice-President of the International Research Society for Public Management, Vice-President of the Management Board of the International Association of Schools and Institutes of Administration (IASIA), member of the Board of the European Association for Public Administration Accreditation, member of the Group of Independent Experts on the European Charter of Local Self-Government by the Council of Europe, and Editor-in-chief of the Journal of Public Administration and Policy. He coordinated numerous research and advisory projects. He primarily acts as a senior public procurement advisor and has 24 years of professional experience in various transition countries. As a key advisor to the governments of Slovakia and the Czech Republic, both ex-Phare countries, he supported all levels of public administration in their internal reforms and improvement of public procurement systems, prior and after their accession to the European Union.

• Prof. Marta Orviska, PhD.  is a professor of finance, banking and investment at Matej Bel University. Her research interest is focused on macroeconomics and public finance, including tax policy and tax evasion, standardisation, wellbeing, and the analysis of attitudes to new technologies. The latter includes attitudes to gene therapy, nanotechnology and the Internet. In particular she has analysed the characteristics of those citizens in the EU who use E-governance. In other research she has analysed the impact of satisfaction with democracy on wellbeing. She has held several positions in national and international projects in these areas (TEMPUS, ODACE, ERASMUS plus, APVV, VEGA). She has a large number of publications in leading academic journals.  She is editor-in-chief of the scientific journal Acta Aerarii Publici.    She was, and is, a member of several professional, national and international boards and committees, and has organized several international conferences.​ She has regularly attended and spoken at UNECE WP6 meetings in Geneva, and also attended as an invited speaker in meetings in Stockholm, Prague and Bratislava.
