Social care for refugees and asylum seekers

One of the leading companies in the field of hosting asylum seekers and refugees in Germany is looking for Social Workers/Social Pedagogues for a paid Traineeship Program that will start in March 2019.

The traineeship will take place in Germany. The Trainees will join the Social Worker´s Team in a Refugee Shelter, assisting them with the organization and management of it, always considering aspects of Social Responsibility and legal requirements. The main tasks will be the following:

- to support residents with their daily issues, providing them tools and solutions for domestic inconvenients, favoring them with emotional support and intercultural mediation.

- to promote inclusion in recreation and leisure activities, organizing and implementing free-time actions, language and integration courses.

- to collaborate with the house administration helping the residents accessing to the different public services and bureaucracies.

- to participate in the Follow up and evaluation process of the services provided to ensure that they are effective.

This Traineeship offers the participant a remunerated 6 months long traineeship contract regulated by the national law. Social and Health Insurance will be covered. After the Traineeship, if there is a positive evaluation of the experience from both sides, the participant could have the possibility to get a regular work contract, a Job opportunity, within the host company and prolong his/her stay.

The Trainees selected will get help from a Mentor (English speaking) to organize the travel, to find accommodation and also language training (German).

What do we expect from the applicant:

We are looking for young European graduates in Social Sciences such as Social Workers, Social Pedagogues, or Social Educators who are interested in working in the field of International Migration and present the following requirements:

- More than 18 years old.

- European Member State Nationality.

- A recognized in Europe University/College Degree in Social Work/ Social Pedagogue/ Social Education.

- English level B2

- Ability to work in an interdisciplinary team

- Appreciation of diversity and multiculturality

- Ability to work in an international context

- Ethical commitment

- Capacity for applying knowledge in practice

- Capacity to adapt to new situations

- Capacity for generating new Ideas (creativity)

- Understanding of cultures and customs of other countries

- High Frustration Tolerance
