    Scholars at Risk (SAR) is an international network of institutions and individuals whose goal is to protect scholars and promote academic freedom worldwide. The network was founded in 1999 at the University of Chicago and has since expanded globally, including sections in various countries, such as Slovakia.

    What is Scholars at Risk Slovakia?

    Scholars at Risk (SAR) Slovakia was founded on May 23, 2019. This initiative was led by the Bratislava Policy Institute (BPI), which serves as the secretariat. The goal of SAR Slovakia is to promote academic freedom, protect endangered scholars, and create a community that supports the free exchange of ideas.

    Key activities of SAR Slovakia include organizing lecture series, courses, and festivals that engage the public in discussions about academic freedom, human rights, and global education. The project also includes working groups that analyze and monitor academic freedom and freedom of expression around the world.
