    is the executive head of the University. He or she is appointed to the post by the President, after having been nominated by the Academic Senate.

    The rector is accountable for the performance of his or her office. The rector presents the following to the Academic Senate: drafts of internal regulations, budgets, fundamental policy documents (constituting long-term plans), evaluations of compliance with plans (annual reports), and other documents and decisions concerning the University.
