Fundamentals of Climatology and Hydrology
The course will take the student through the basics of Earth's atmosphere and hydrosphere. The student will gain a brief understanding of the main driving forces that stand behind the weather and climate on our planet. The second part of the course dedicated to hydrology will introduce the principles of big and small hydrologic cycle and the student will learn about the individual components of hydrosphere, their principles and functions. Special attention is paid to climate and hydrology in Slovakia, also current issues such as hydrologic extremes or climate change will be discussed. Lectures are interactive and accompanied with practical activities during seminars to enhance the learning process.
