Logistics Management

The course offers a basic understanding of fundamental principles and processes constituting logistics and supply chain management, this being taught from both theoretical and practical perspectives. In this course, students will acquire basic knowledge of main logistics activities in an enterprise, and competences in managing these activities. The syllabus of the course covers topics of the following areas of logistics: procurement, inventory management, warehousing and material handling, transportation, customer services, and green trends in logistics. After completing this the course, student will be able to solve basic and more complex logistics problems in enterprises and apply the theoretical knowledge into business practice. The course is designed for students who have had little or no previous experience or coursework regarding logistics.

Number of credits: 5

Course duration: September – December / 8 – 10 weeks / total of 32 – 40 classes (40 minute a class), the total number of classes may be negotiated while the content will be adjusted to the demand.

Learning hoursWithin the 4 classes, 2 (80 minutes) are conducted in form of a lecture, where theoretical background to each topic is introduced. It is beneficial to have them followed by 2 seminars (another 80 minutes) where the theory is applied into practical solutions to logistics problems.
