Theory of Electromagnetic Field

The aim of the course is to derive the Maxwell equation from the empirical information, and show how these equations can be used in solution of typical problems. The symmetries of the full set of the Maxwell equations and their gauge invariance are discussed and general solutions in terms of scalar and vector potentials are derived. We derive Lorentz transformation from the requirements that electromagnetic interactions remain the same in all reference frames.
