On the 4^th of December 2017, President Andrej Kiska appointed thirty new university professors. In his speech, the head of the state asked them to put pressure on improving the quality of education, science and research.

We are very pleased that among the newly appointed professors there are also three new professors from Matej Bel University in Banská Bystrica:

• prof. RNDr. Miroslav Haviar, CSc. from the Faculty of Natural Sciences at MBU in Mathematics

• prof. PaedDr. Peter Jusko, PhD. from the Pedagogical Faculty at MBU in Social Work

• prof. Mgr. Jaromír Krško, PhD. from the Faculty of Arts at MBU in General Linguistics

We cordially congratulate the newly-appointed professors and we wish them a lot of energy, health, personal happiness and success in their extremely important work.
