Meeting of rectors and presidents of EMERGE European University Alliance

Meeting of rectors and presidents of EMERGE European University Alliance

On October 14 and 15, 2025, a meeting of rectors of partner universities composing the European University Alliance EMERGE took place at University Rennes 2 in France. The subject of the meeting was to evaluate the first six months of the EMERGE alliance, present the results achieved in each of the areas of activity, and identify potential risks in the implementation of the joint project. The EMERGE Governing Board meeting discussed the composition and tasks of the advisory bodies and adopted a framework plan for joint meetings of rectors for 2026. It was held at the same time as EMERGE staff week for communication officers and audiovisual technicians from the alliance.

The working meeting was also an opportunity to visit both French partner universities – University Rennes 2 and University South Brittany – to get to know their academic environment, research focus, and the regional context in which they operate. The encounter helped strengthen and develop partnerships among alliance partners, exchange experiences, and enhance further cooperation.

The rectors of the EMERGE alliance meet four times a year, each time at a different one of the thirty EMERGE university campuses. We are delighted that in the spring of 2026 we will be able to welcome the rectors to UMB
