A Guide on the way of your development

CCV is an institution of Matej Bel University and a member of: the Association of Adult Education Institutions (AIVD), Slovak Academic Association for Lifelong Learning (SAACV), and Association of Universities of the Third Age (ASUTV).

The idea of CCVs is to provide a system of lifelong learning that will reach the highest possible number of citizens of all ages (from children and teenagers to elderly people), of different professions, of different interest groups and social classes.
Our task is also to contribute to the fulfilment of the idea of providing teaching and professional staff with further training and continuous education.

Further education

The aim of further education is to allow anybody to complete, broaden and deepen their education or to retrain by seeking further education. The primary objective is to prepare and implement accredited and non-accredited training activities.

Training activities are taught by teachers of the particular faculties of MBU, by teachers of Slovak and foreign universities and schools and by external lecturers.

Continuous education

Training activities of continuous education (KV) are implemented in accordance with Act no. 317/2009 Coll. on the teaching staff and specialists and on amendments to certain laws as amended in the wording of Act no. 390/2011 Coll. The education programmes offered are addressed at teachers as the main target group. The particular training programs have all gained accreditation. The other categories of teaching and professional staff are not currently offered any programmes of continuous education.

Types of continuous education offered

  • Maintenance: The aim of the maintenance education of a member of the teaching staff and of a specialist is to maintain his professional competence necessary for the standard performance of teaching activities or for the standard performance of any Professional activity or training to assist passing an attestation pursuant to § 50 of Act no. 317/2009 Coll.
  • Innovation: The aim of the innovation education of a member of the teaching staff and of a specialist is to develop professional competencies required for the standard performance of teaching activities or for the standard performance of any professional activity. At the present time, the innovative programs are in the process of accreditation.
  • Qualification: The aim of qualification studies is to acquire professional competencies required to meet the qualification requirements for teaching another approbation subject or subjects of the field of study. Pursuant to Act no. 317/2009 Coll. on teaching and professional staff, these programmes are currently subordinate to the qualification continuous education.

Complementary pedagogical studies

Complementary pedagogical study (abbreviated as DPŠ) is organized in accordance with Act no. 317/2009 Coll. on the teaching staff and specialists and on amendments to certain laws, as amended. Graduating from this form of study, the graduate is qualified to teach at the 2nd grade of primary schools or at secondary schools. The complementary study is offered only in those fields of study which Matej Bel University provides as accredited in the second degree of university education. The study takes place in the MBU Centre for Lifelong Learning at the weekends, i.e. we want to enable the participants to become actively involved in learning and to combine their work commitments with their study. The sending date of the application for study shall be considered as the only a selection criterion for admission.

Target group: Graduates of the second degree of university studies in non-teaching curricula whose content or the content of the state exams follows the content of the subjects taught in the second grade of basic schools or at secondary schools.

Training programme content: HERE

The scope of the training programme: 210 hours

The method of proof about the relevance of education: submission of photocopies of certificates on completed education (need not be certified by a notary public).

The method of completing the training program: defence of the written final thesis and final examination in pedagogy, psychology and didactics related to the vocational subjects presented to the Examining Board.

Price of study: 380, - € per one term (the price includes: instruction and assessment of the subjects pursuant to the curriculum, guidance and evaluation of the final thesis and final examinations; Note: the price of study involves passing one didactic unit of vocational subjects)
