The European Documentation Centre (EDC) was establish at the MBU Faculty of Law in compliance with the agreement between the European Commission and Matej Bel University with the aims:
- To create a place providing special information and materials from the law and legislation area to satisfy the demands of law teachers and students as well as other juristic public.
- To support research, teaching and the study of the European integration questions at universities making available documents issued by the European Union institutions.
The EDC collections contain materials from various areas of EU life:
- Institutional questions,
- Customs union and trade policy
- Agriculture
- Forestry and fishing
- Employment and labour
- Social questions
- Law and legislation
- Transport
- Competition and business
- Finances
- Economic questions and consumerism
- External relations
- Energy
- Regional policy
- Environment
- Science-technology development
- Education and culture
- Statistics data concerning each of above-mentioned areas

COM documents:
Legal regulations drafts, programs, green and white books..
CES documents:
The Economic and social committee statements concerning some suggested regulations
Legislation:
Basic agreements (primary)
Legal regulations (secondary)
Published in Official Journals of the European Communities,
Set „L“ - contains applicable legal regulations.
Set „C“ – contains legal regulation drafts, the EU declaration and the European Commission statements with information about new court cases.
Supplement to the Official Journal of the European Communities it is the set “S“ of this periodical that contains tenders for community services..
Magazine Report of Cases publishes the European Court of Justice and First Instance Court cases including judgement.
On 7th April 2003 the EDC obtained the database CELEX access right (it has the right to access the full text version) that contains: applicable legislation, court cases and questions in Parliament. The database is updated on a daily basis in the 11 EU languages.
